Platform type is only one part of a drilling-equipment discussion. Compare access, transport and drilling requirements together; neither platform is automatically suitable for every site.
Describe How The Site Will Be Reached.
Record known access, transport restrictions, routes and dimensional limitations rather than relying on general descriptions.
Separate Drilling Needs From Transport Needs.
Document drilling depth, diameter and method alongside transport requirements. Platform type alone does not establish drilling capability.
Clarify Chassis And Package Scope.
For a truck-mounted enquiry, state chassis requirements and ask exactly what is included. For a crawler-mounted enquiry, identify the transport arrangements that need discussion.
Review The Complete Requirement.
Ask for the proposed model, dimensions, relevant configuration and unresolved site questions to be documented before selection.
Enquiry Checklist
- Site access and transport constraints
- Drilling task and intended method
- Chassis or transport requirements
- Dimensions and package inclusions
Technical Review Boundary: This article is a requirements comparison, not a platform recommendation, road-use claim or chassis-inclusion commitment.
Separate The Journey From The Job Site
Describe how equipment reaches the site and how it moves once there. Access-road restrictions, clearances and turning room are different questions from movement across the working area. A crawler travel specification does not replace a transport plan, and a truck-mounted configuration does not by itself confirm destination road approval.
Keep The Drilling Requirement Constant
When comparing platforms, use the same target depth, diameter, method and ground information. Otherwise a platform comparison can accidentally become a comparison of unrelated rig duties. Confirm the model-specific dimensions and the intended chassis or transport arrangement; do not estimate them from a photograph.
Account For Supporting Equipment
Explain where tools, rods and the air or circulation equipment will be positioned or transported. The required working area concerns the complete operation, not only the rig footprint. Provide access measurements or drawings where available. Any safe setup or operating plan must be assessed for the real site and specific equipment.
